O título desta exposição remete-nos para uma acção, para um ensaio. Ensaio em duplo sentido. Por um lado, estas obras surgem após as acções Uso dos Olhos – série Objectos de errância – onde o uso destes objectos, assim como o seus ensaios e registos, por exigirem a vivência pessoal desses momentos, aproximaram a obra de uma experiência física das cores, na presença e no estudo da manifestação da natureza ao vivo, na observação das tintas do mundo .

Por outro lado, este título invoca também a impossibilidade de ensaiar o sol, ou melhor, o ocaso, onde cada momento é único e irrepetível. E são esses instantes que aqui pretendem estar sintetizados e incorporados na cor dos vidros e das telas, como podemos ler nas instruções da obra Ensaio sobre Sol #1:

Pode retirar os vidros da caixa e ver através destes.
Estará a segurar as cores que vi quando o sol se põe.
Uma a uma.

Aqui encontramos o registo físico da luz que é fragmentada em 9 vidros de cor diferente, que no seu todo constituem a obra Ensaio sobre Sol #1. Marta Wengorovius propõe, assim, a possibilidade de agarrar e transportar um espaço de cor. Tocar qualquer coisa que está para lá da representação e que metaforicamente a incorpora.

Agarrar um espaço-cor, como se pudéssemos ver através de um Rothko transparente.
